North Eugene triumphant thanks to a strong effort from India Mohiuddin

Recap: North Eugene Highlanders vs. Putnam Kingsmen

The North Eugene Highlanders waltzed into their match Wednesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They secured a 51-46 W over Putnam. The score was all tied up 22-22 at the break, but North Eugene was the better team in the second half.

It was another big night for India Mohiuddin, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of North Eugene's points. Another player making a difference was Elias McKinnis, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.

North Eugene's victory bumped their record up to 9-1. As for Putnam, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. North Eugene won't have much time to rest: their next game is against South Medford at 7:15 p.m. on December 28th. South Medford will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Oregon Rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while North Eugene is ranked sixth). Putnam is on the road again on Tuesday and play against La Salle at 7:15 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
