Baseball Recap: Avon Park Takes a Loss

Avon Park has relied on a stalwart pitchers averaging 3.6 runs allowed per game, but that average took a hit on Monday. They came up short against the LaBelle Cowboys/Cowgirls, falling 11-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Red Devils have suffered since April 18, 2024.

Eric Harrison was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while going 2-for-4. What's more, he posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Pollitt, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Avon Park moved to 14-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for LaBelle, they pushed their record up to 11-8 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Avon Park will take on Frostproof at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for LaBelle, they will challenge Evangelical Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
