Baseball Game Preview: Webster County Highlanders vs. Mount View Golden Knights

The Webster County Highlanders will venture away from home to square off against the Mount View Golden Knights at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Webster County has given up an average of 8.7 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Webster County came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They lost 20-12 to Poca.

Maddox Brown made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two runs and one stolen base. Webster County is 3-1 when Brown posts two or more runs, but 2-9 otherwise. Greyden Channel also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Bland County hit Mount View with a four-run third inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Golden Knights came up short against the Bears, falling 13-2. The Golden Knights' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Webster County has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Mount View, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6-1.
