Volleyball Recap: Geibel Catholic Takes a Loss

Geibel Catholic lost against California back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Gators came up short against the Trojans, falling 3-0. The Gators have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Geibel Catholic was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into California's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-19, 25-20.

Geibel Catholic's offense was headlined by Mallory Clemmer and Nolace Petrosky, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Sarah Shumar and her five assists. Clemmer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Geibel Catholic's defeat dropped their record down to 2-11. As for California, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Geibel Catholic didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Washington on the 6th. As for California, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Frazier at 6:00 p.m.
