Baseball Recap: Farmington Phoenix vs. Davis Darts        
        
		
            Farmington had lost five straight on the road, but  on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 5-20 to make it six. They fell  14-9 to the Davis Darts. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Darts this season,  with their most recent  defeat being a  3-2  loss  on Tuesday.
Farmington got a good showing from  Easton Willis, who   tossed 2.1 innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. That's the fewest  hits  Willis has allowed since back in March.

 On the hitting side,  Lincoln Westlund and  Landon Leavitt stepped up to the plate in a big way.  Westlund  went 1-for-4 with two  runs and one  RBI, while  Leavitt  went 2-for-5 with two  runs and two  RBI. Westlund has become a key player for Farmington: the team is 4-2 when he posts  at  least  two  runs, but 1-18 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Kaden Stock, who  went 1-for-3 with two  RBI.
As for Davis, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record  this season. Those  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 10.5 runs over those games.
On Davis' side,  Croydon Christensen looked comfortable as he  pitched two innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. Christensen has been consistent: he hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in eight consecutive appearances.
 At the plate,  Owen Talbot and  Wally Grant did most of the damage at the plate:  Talbot  went 4-for-5 with four  runs, one  stolen base,  and two  RBI, while  Grant  got on base  in all five of his plate appearances with three  runs and two  RBI. Talbot has been hot recently, having  posted three or more  hits the last three times he's  played. The team also got some help courtesy of  Brody Mcguire, who  went 2-for-3 with two  doubles and two  RBI.
As of now, neither Farmington nor Davis have any future games scheduled.
