Softball Recap: Metcalfe County Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Metcalfe County took a 12-run loss the last time they faced off against Monroe County, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Hornets had just enough and edged out the Falcons 8-7. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Hornets as it put an end to their eight-game losing streak.

The team relied heavily on LeeElla Boles, who went 1-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Taegyn England also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 5-8. As for Monroe County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-12-1 record this season.

Metcalfe County will face off against Russell County at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Monroe County, they will head out to face off against Westmoreland at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak.
