The Orange Cove Titans will venture away from home to challenge the Hoover Patriots at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Orange Cove comes in on ten and Hoover on 12.
Orange Cove is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Caruthers get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Titans have won 13 matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

05/13/25 vs Summit Charter Collegiate Academy | 9 |
05/08/25 vs Wonderful College Prep Academy | 12 |
05/06/25 vs Farmersville | 5 |
The result came thanks to Daisy Regalado's shutout, as she gave up just four hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ashley Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run and two runs. Sammie Lopez also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Orange Cove was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .360 or higher in six consecutive contests.
Hoover came out on top against Farmersville on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Aztecs 8-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Patriots have posted since April 26, 2024.
Hazel Martinez was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Martinez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Alyssa Nieto was excellent, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mya Del Rio, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Orange Cove pushed their record up to 16-8 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hoover, their record now sits at 16-5.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Orange Cove has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .480. However, it's not like Hoover struggles in that department as they've averaged .444. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
