The biggest upset of the week belonged to Steinmetz, who took down 341st ranked Schurz, 14-7.
Whitney Young extended the longest winning streak in Chicago Public - Big Shoulders this week by beating Mather, 34-0. The win marks eighth in a row for the the Dolphins.
Taft's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Jesse Vega contributed 93 yards.
Vega provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Eagles beat Amundsen.
Demarcus Heglar was a key player and the best on defense this week as Taft topped the Vikings. The 5-foot-10 senior pulled down 1 interception.
Vega was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 93 yards on 7 carries as Matthew Walsh's team defeated Amundsen. Heglar also contributed to the rushing game with 43 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Javier Chavez and James Liss, the Eagles have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Chavez is tops in the league in passing with 627 yards, while Liss has rushed for 602 yards this season. The Bulldogs' Deven Weathers leads the league in receiving yards with 554 on 18 catches.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Whitney Young takes on second place Taft. Whitney Young defeated the Rangers last week, while Taft bested Grant Jones' team.
Next week's game between the Eagles and Tim Franken's team will feature a good passing match up as Chavez will test his arm against David Craan's defensive ability.
There should be lots of points scored when Taft and the Dolphins face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Eagles comes in having scored 219 this season, while Whitney Young has scored 282. Taft scored 48 points last week as it topped the Vikings.
The Eagles took down Amundsen 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Vega during the win.
