Preview: The Rock Lions vs. Union County Fightin' Tigers

The Rock has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They just played last night, but they'll still head out to face the Union County Fightin' Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. One thing working in The Rock's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.

The Rock can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent match on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 87-52 win over Vine Christian Academy. Given The Rock's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Vine Christian Academy is ranked 375th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Union County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 61-60 to Interlachen. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Thomas Williams put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 27 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. Jayden Jenkins was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with eight rebounds.

The Rock's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-4. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27 points. As for Union County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-7.
