Basketball Recap: Memorial Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Memorial Christian Academy lost against Methodist Children's Home two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Memorial Christian Academy Warriors were dealt a 62-28 defeat at the hands of the Methodist Children's Home Bulldogs. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cody Williams and Kalin Love certainly did their best on Monday to avoid the loss. Williams dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 rebounds, while Love posted 12 points in addition to seven boards and five steals. The dominant performance also gave Love a new career-high in assists (four). Nicolaas Contreras also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

Even though they lost, Memorial Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive rebounds in nine consecutive matchups.

Methodist Children's Home's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Londen Bickham, who scored 17 points along with six assists and five rebounds. The game was Bickham's fifth in a row with at least 17 points. Olice Brown-Lynch was another key player, going 9-for-20 to rack up 21 points and six boards.

Memorial Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 4-17. As for Methodist Children's Home, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-6.

Memorial Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Methodist Children's Home, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, an 83-22 defeat against Trinity Christian Academy on the 13th.
