Meanwhile, Refugio unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Three Rivers by a score of 3-2. While the Bobcats didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bulldogs 25-15 in the first set.
Refugio actually scored more points across those five sets (107-106), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 15-25, 26-28, 25-21, 25-21, 15-12.
Despite the loss, Refugio got top-tier performance from Bradi Fox-Smith, who had 39 digs, 14 kills, and four aces. Fox-Smith is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 11 or more in the last nine games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jazaelynne Lewis, who had 22 digs, 16 kills, and 14 assists.
Skidmore-Tynan has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 23-8 record this season. As for Refugio, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-12.
