The Swink Lions will head out to take on the Fowler Grizzlies at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.
On Friday, Swink needed a bit of extra time to put away Rye. They beat the Thunderbolts by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Noah Pearson made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Swink is undefeated when Pearson posts two or more stolen bases, but 7-9 otherwise.
In other batting news, Nick Paolucci was excellent, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, one run, and one double. He has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last seven times he's played. Nate Cabrera was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.
Meanwhile, Fowler had already won 13 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it 14 on Friday. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Trojans.
Like Swink, Fowler also got a great game from a two-way player: Brock True. On the mound, he struck out six batters over 2.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit (and only one walk). True was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024.
True wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Joe Salvo, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most doubles Salvo has posted since back in April of 2024.
Fowler's victory was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-2. As for Swink, their record is now 12-9.
