Softball Recap: Richmond Comes Up Short

Richmond was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against the Sacopee Valley Hawks, falling 15-2. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.

Richmond saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brooke Fournier, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Another was Charlotte Crawson, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Richmond's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Sacopee Valley, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8.

While Richmond had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
