On Friday, Winn came up short against Southwest and fell 29-20. The loss continues a trend for the Mavericks in their meetings with the Dragons: they've now lost eight in a row.

Meanwhile, Southside didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Southwest Legacy on Friday, but they still walked away with a 19-14 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Cardinals.

Winn's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Southside, their victory bumped their record up to 5-3.
