Softball Recap: Academy at the Lakes' Victory on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Academy at the Lakes entered their tilt with Seven Rivers Christian on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 18-4 margin over the Warriors. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won four games by 14 runs or more so far this season.

Natalie Osborne was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Ava Parry was incredible, going 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Nola Reilly, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.

The victory got Academy at the Lakes back to even at 6-6. As for Seven Rivers Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 5-16.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Academy at the Lakes will square off against River Ridge at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Seven Rivers Christian, they will face off against Hernando Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
