Soccer Game Preview: Lodi vs. St. Mary's

The Lodi Flames will take on the St. Mary's Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, neither Lodi nor West could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Lodi's goal came courtesy of Devin Briceno, who's now up to seven this season.

Meanwhile, St. Mary's didn't have quite enough to beat Lincoln on Tuesday and fell 3-2. While losing is never fun, the Rams can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 436th, while the Trojans are ranked 146th).

St. Mary's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-2-1. Lodi's draw makes their record 4-4-4 this season.

Lodi beat St. Mary's by a goal when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 1-0. Will Lodi repeat their success, or does St. Mary's have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
