It's playoff time, and Dakota Valley had no trouble coming through when it counted. They came out on top against the Vermillion Tanagers by a score of  62-54  on Thursday. The  victory was nothing new for the Panthers as they're now sitting on four straight.
 Dakota Valley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Cameryn Sommervold led the charge by  going 6-for-9  on her way to 17 points along with five  rebounds and three  blocks. Another player making a difference was  Aubree Worden, who  went 5-for-9  en route to 14  points and seven  boards.
Dakota Valley's win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 20-2. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 75.7 points over those games. As for Vermillion,  the  loss snapped their winning streak at nine games  and leaves them with a 18-4 record.
 Looking ahead, Dakota Valley will challenge West Central on Thursday. West Central will roll in looking for their  12th straight  victory, something Dakota Valley surely won't give up without a fight. Vermillion does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
