Basketball Recap: West Brunswick Trojans vs. Ashley Screaming Eagle
West Brunswick won the last time they faced Ashley and things went their way on Monday too. The West Brunswick Trojans came out on top against the Ashley Screaming Eagle by a score of 59-48. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
West Brunswick was led to victory by K'Veon Griffin and Matthew McKenney. Griffin went 5-for-7 en route to 21 points and three steals, while McKenney went 5-for-12 to rack up 14 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyler Rodriguez, who posted five points.
Defeat or not, Ashley got some senior leadership from Quinn Bentley and Avery Saffo. Bentley went 6-for-10 on his way to 13 points, while Saffo earned ten points. What's more, Saffo also posted a 67% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Cole Lewis, who had six points and six rebounds.
