The St. Augustine Catholic Wolves just played yesterday, but they'll still head out to face the Catalina Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Catalina took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on St. Augustine Catholic, who comes in off a win.

St. Augustine Catholic is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against San Miguel by a score of 78-70 on Thursday. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their 24-point performance the contest before.

St. Augustine Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jovanni Fernandez led the charge by dropping a double-double on 20 points and ten boards. Those 20 points gave Fernandez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jonathan Ochoa, who posted 22 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, Catalina was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 28th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against Empire, falling 54-21.

St. Augustine Catholic's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 6-12. As for Catalina, their loss dropped their record down to 0-13.

St. Augustine Catholic came out on top in a nail-biter against Catalina in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, sneaking past 48-46. The rematch might be a little tougher for St. Augustine Catholic since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
