Baseball Recap: Monett Picks Up Fifth Straight Win at Home

Monett won the last time they faced East Newton and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cubs walked away with a 9-6 victory over the Patriots. That's two games straight that the Cubs have won by exactly three runs.

Miles Young was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Seitz, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Monett pushed their record up to 6-2 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for East Newton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-6-1.
