Landon Hughes posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Monday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out nine batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

Hughes' strong effort led Rich Township over Kankakee and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
