Basketball Recap: Kelliher/Northome Extends Home Winning Streak to 17

Kelliher/Northome won against Lake of the Woods last Thursday with 101 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Monday. The Kelliher/Northome Mustangs breezed past the Red Lake Warriors to the tune of 101-16. The Mustangs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 14 contests by 34 points or more this season.

Kate Thayer continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 25 points and 13 steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 48 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylee Binkley, who dropped a double-double with 17 points and ten rebounds.

Kelliher/Northome smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 25 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 13 consecutive matchups.

Kelliher/Northome's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 49.1 points. As for Red Lake, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-16.

Kelliher/Northome wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 99-48 victory against Pine River-Backus on the 11th. As for Red Lake, they have also already played their next contest, a 72-17 defeat against Blackduck on the 11th.
