Football Game Preview: Seymour Panthers vs. Munday Moguls

Seymour is 8-1 against Munday since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Moguls at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with seven consecutive losses for Seymour and six for Munday.

Last Friday, Seymour took a blow against Petrolia, falling 68-32.

Seymour might have lost, but man, Tyler Whitfield was a machine: he picked up 109 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 75 yards. Jaxon Carrington also deserves some recognition as he punched in his first rushing touchdown of the season.

Meanwhile, Munday played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by Petrolia and fell 53-14. The Moguls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-8.

Seymour's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Munday, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Seymour has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 167.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Munday struggles in that department as they've been averaging 158.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Seymour strolled past Munday in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 38-20. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
