Soccer Game Preview: Carson vs. San Pedro

The Carson Colts will venture away from home to square off against the San Pedro Pirates at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Carson took a loss when they played away from home back in December of 2025, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Rancho Dominguez with a sharp 8-1 win. That seven-goal margin sets a new team best for Carson this season.

Their offense was hitting Rancho Dominguez from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Daniel Ramirez led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, San Pedro kept a clean sheet against Gardena on Wednesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Panthers. Given San Pedro's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Gardena are ranked 763rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

San Pedro's win bumped their record up to 10-4-2. As for Carson, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 6-4-3.

Carson beat San Pedro by a goal when the teams last played back in February of 2025, winning 2-1. Do the Colts have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pirates turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
