Sargent skates past Creede with ease

Recap: Sargent Farmers vs. Creede Miners

The Sargent Farmers won against the Creede Miners last Tuesday with 61 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Sargent took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 61-15 victory over Creede. That looming 61-15 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Sargent yet this season.

Leading Sargent to victory were Fernando Venzor and Lucas Garcia. Venzor scored 16 points, while Garcia scored 15 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Garcia has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Trenton Pasket, who scored nine points.

The victory was the third in a row for Sargent, bringing their record for this year to 7-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.3 points per game. As for Creede, they bumped their record down to 1-7 with that loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sargent will take on La Veta at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. La Veta will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Sargent is ranked 79th). As for Creede, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Antonito at 6:30 p.m. Antonito is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
