Softball Game Preview: Alonso Ravens vs. Leto Falcons

Alonso has gone a perfect 6-0 against Leto recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. It'll be a Battle of the Birds when Alonso Ravens take on Leto Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Alonso is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Leto will be up against a hot Alonso team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Alonso was the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over Robinson on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Karina Lozada spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Leah Hernandez, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while going 2-for-4. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in stolen bases. Jolie Perillo also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.

Meanwhile, Leto lost 17-7 to Tampa Bay Tech on Monday. The defeat continues a trend for the Falcons in their meetings with the Titans: they've now lost six in a row.

The victory got Alonso back to even at 4-4. As for Leto, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Everything went Alonso's way against Leto in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Alonso made off with a 17-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alonso since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
