Baseball Recap: Highlands Latin Comes Up Short

After flying high against Iroquois on Saturday, Highlands Latin came back down to earth. The Highlanders lost 17-1 to the Butler Bears on Monday. The Highlanders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Bears apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Highlands Latin saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Hamilton (Luke), who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that Hamilton (Luke) has brought in this season.

Highlands Latin's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Butler, the win snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 9-11 record.

Coming up, Highlands Latin will challenge Seneca at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Butler, they will face off against Iroquois at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raiders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17.88 runs per game on average), something the Bears will no doubt try to take advantage of.
