Basketball Recap: Connor Branch's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Franklin Road Christian over Suburban Christian

Franklin Road Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Suburban Christian on Thursday. The Franklin Road Christian Minutemen fell 74-63 to the Suburban Christian Crusaders.

Franklin Road Christian lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Connor Branch, who posted 15 points. Branch continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Pierre DeShields was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 13 points and nine boards.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Suburban Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ayden Montgomery, who earned 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chad Glover, who scored 15 points.

Franklin Road Christian's loss dropped their record down to 19-11. As for Suburban Christian, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Franklin Road Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 52-44 defeat against Varsity Opponent on the 31st. As for Suburban Christian, they have also already played their next contest, a 46-44 loss against Bible Baptist Christian on the 31st.
