Volleyball Game Preview: Covington Buccs vs. Lehman Catholic Cavaliers

The Covington Buccs will head out on the road to challenge the Lehman Catholic Cavaliers at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Covington will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Covington beat Milton-Union 3-1.

Covington walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 22-25, 25-19, 25-18.

Covington's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ramse Vanderhorst, who had 19 digs and one block. That block marked the first that Vanderhorst has had this season.

Meanwhile, Lehman Catholic was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverside on Tuesday, taking the game 3-1. The Cavaliers haven't had any issues with the Pirates recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 20-25, 26-17, 25-16.

Covington's record is now 14-4. As for Lehman Catholic, their record now sits at 8-10.

Everything went Covington's way against Lehman Catholic when the teams last played back in September, as Covington made off with a 3-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
