South Effingham has been on the road for eight straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Effingham County Rebels at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Tuesday, South Effingham came up short against Glynn Academy and fell 54-45.
The match pitted two dominant guards against one another in Elena Hairston and Martin Davis. Davis had a great game and dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Meanwhile, Hairston did her best for the losing side, scoring eight points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Effingham County's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their fourth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Brunswick, falling 78-36. Effingham County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-17.
South Effingham has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season. As for Effingham County, they bumped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
