Volleyball Recap: Waverly Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Waverly, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the York Dukes on Tuesday. The Vikings not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since September 30th (when they won 3-0).

While Waverly won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-22, 25-12.

Hallie Lauenstein paced Waverly's offense, picking up 15 kills. Lauenstein got some help from Tyka Hoos and her 37 assists. Finally, Emmalyn Quinn kept Waverly's defense grounded, leading the team with nine blocks.

Waverly's victory bumped their record up to 25-4. As for York, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-15.

Coming up, Waverly will welcome Standing Bear at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for York, they will take on Lakeview at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
