Baseball Game Preview: Western Panthers vs. Logansport Berries

For the second straight game, Western will face off against Logansport. The Panthers will venture away from home to square off against the Berries at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Western is coming into the game hot, having won their last six games.

On Tuesday, Western got the win against Logansport by a conclusive 8-1. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won six matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Jaiden McNulty tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Western let Kyler Norman and Levi Shoemaker run wild. Norman went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI, while Shoemaker went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Those three hits gave Norman a new career-high. Brady Comer was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Western was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Logansport only posted a batting average of .192.

Logansport has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season. As for Western, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their 13th straight at home dating back to last season.
