            Baseball Recap: Fryeburg Raiders vs. Lake Region Lakers        
        
		
        
        
            Fryeburg dropped their record down to 7-6 on Thursday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins on the road. They fell  9-6 to the Lake Region Lakers. The Raiders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Lakers earlier this season, when they won  5-0.
As for Lake Region, they pushed their record up to 12-4 with the  victory, which was their eighth straight  at home. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games.
For Lake Region's part, they gave  Brock Gibbens the start and clearly made the right call: he  didn't allow a single  earned run and  allowed only two  hits while striking out ten over six innings pitched. Gibbens has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't  given up  a single  earned run in six consecutive appearances.
 On the hitting side, Lake Region got a big performance out of  Titus Benton, who  got on base  in four of his six plate appearances with one  run. Another player making a difference was  Jaiden Meehan, who  went 2-for-3 with two  RBI and one  run.
