Basketball Recap: Hawthorne Valley Drops Season-High Score on Hudson Ridge

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hawthorne Valley). They enjoyed a cozy 88-69 win over the Hudson Ridge Thunder Chicken on Wednesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Wildcats who have now won three games in a row.

It was another big night for Oliver Towe, who posted 43 points. Noah Vom Stein was another key player, putting up 21 points.

Despite the loss, Hudson Ridge still got an impressive performance from Julius Brown, who put up 57 points. The matchup was Brown's 17th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kiere Franze, who had ten points.

Hawthorne Valley's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-5. As for Hudson Ridge, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hawthorne Valley will head out to square off against Germantown at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Hawthorne Valley is facing Germantown at the right time seeing as Germantown is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Hudson Ridge, they are taking a road trip to challenge Lake George at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
