Basketball Recap: Rank Disadvantage No Problem for West Ranch

West Ranch had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 75-65 victory over the San Marcos Royals on Thursday. The win was all the more spectacular given the Wildcats' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 465th, while the Royals are ranked 114th).

West Ranch now has a winning record of 4-3. As for San Marcos, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-4.

West Ranch and St. Paul will round out the year against one another at at 3:30 p.m. on December 26th. As for San Marcos, they will challenge Saratoga at 5:30 p.m. on December 26th. One thing working in San Marcos' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.
