Softball Recap: Bullard Picks Up 19th Straight Win at Home

Bullard came tearing into Saturday's matchup with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Sulphur Springs Wildcats a 6-0 shutout. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 contests by six runs or more this season.

Bullard pushed their record up to 21-3 with the victory, which was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Sulphur Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 17-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bullard will face off against Madisonville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Madisonville has struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 6.67 runs per game on average), something Bullard will no doubt try to take advantage of.
