Basketball Game Preview: Pender Pendragons vs. Oakland-Craig Knights

The Pender Pendragons are taking a road trip to challenge the Oakland-Craig Knights on Friday. Pender is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games.

On Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Pender beat Winnebago 56-50.

Pender got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryan Krueger out in front who shot 56% from the field to rack up 19 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Krueger a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (50%). Trevor Trimble was another key player, going 6-for-10 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

Meanwhile, Oakland-Craig came up short against Clarkson/Leigh on Tuesday and fell 51-41.

Pender will have to contain Javar Larson as he made an impact in Oakland-Craig's last game. He shot 45% from the field on his way to 21 points in addition to eight rebounds and three steals.

Pender's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Oakland-Craig, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Pender took their victory against Oakland-Craig in their previous matchup back in January by a conclusive 50-26 score. In that matchup, the Pendragons amassed a halftime lead of 28-7, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
