Volleyball Recap: Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Comes Up Short

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Norfolk Academy Bulldogs. If the Saints were looking for revenge after losing 3-1 to the Bulldogs when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Nansemond-Suffolk Academy was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-22, 25-21.

Campbell Spencer paced Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's offense, picking up eight kills. Spencer got some help from Jossy Byars and her 11 assists.

Nansemond-Suffolk Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-8. As for Norfolk Academy, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

Coincidentally, Nansemond-Suffolk Academy and Norfolk Academy will both be playing Catholic the next time they take the court. The Saints will head out to face the Crusaders at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
