Baseball Recap: Greene County Takes Down Forest in a Playoff Battle

With a playoff win on the line, Greene County rose to the challenge on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Forest Bearcats. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Greene County let Cole Helton and Zaine Moody run wild. Helton went 1-for-3 with one home run and three runs, while Moody went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most runs Moody has posted since back in March. Cameron Kelly also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Greene County's win bumped their record up to 19-11. As for Forest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 16 of their last 19 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-20 record this season.

Greene County will have a chance to go back-to-back against Forest: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
