Baseball Game Preview: Chino Cowboys vs. Chaffey Tigers

For the second straight game, Chino will face off against Chaffey. The Cowboys will take on the Tigers at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Chino will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Last Wednesday, Chino made easy work of Chaffey and carried off an 11-3 win. The Cowboys might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.

Nathan Sena made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. Sena was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while going 1-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Matthew Gomez was incredible, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2. Another player making a difference was Caleb Carrillo, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

Chino kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matchups they've averaged 10.

Chino pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Chaffey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-9.
