Baseball Game Preview: Cleveland Storm vs. Piedra Vista Panthers

The Cleveland Storm will head out to face off against the Piedra Vista Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cleveland will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Cleveland is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of New Mexico's top teams: Farmington, who was ranked tenth at the time (Cleveland was ranked fifth). The Storm came out on top against the Scorpions by a score of 9-4 on Friday. That's two games straight that the Storm have won by exactly five runs.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Piedra Vista faced off against Cibola on Friday. The Panthers fell just short of the Cougars by a score of 5-4. The Panthers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Piedra Vista's loss dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Cleveland, their win bumped their record up to 13-5.

Everything went Cleveland's way against Piedra Vista in their previous meeting back in May of 2024, as Cleveland made off with a 12-2 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Storm since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
