Softball Game Preview: Reedy Lions vs. Lone Star Rangers

The Reedy Lions will face off against the Lone Star Rangers at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Reedy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.5 runs per game this season.

Lone Star will be up against a hot Reedy squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Reedy blew past The Colony 16-8 on Tuesday.

Reedy got a massive performance out of Katelyn Crosby, who went 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Those five RBI gave Crosby a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Megan Lau, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-5.

Crosby wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Reedy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. Reedy is 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Meanwhile, Lone Star unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 7-3 to Creekview.

Brooke Wooten was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run. The team also got some help courtesy of Serenity Smith, who went 1-for-4 with one home run.

Lone Star's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 9-5-1. As for Reedy, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9.

Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Reedy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .330. However, it's not like Lone Star struggles in that department as they've averaged .365. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
