Baseball Game Preview: Donna North Chiefs vs. Harlingen South Hawks

For the second straight game, Donna North will face off against Harlingen South. The Chiefs will head out on the road to face off against the Hawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Donna North has struggled recently with three losses in a row, while Harlingen South will arrive with seven straight wins.

Donna North fell victim to Harlingen South and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 12-0 to the Hawks. That's two games in a row now that the Chiefs have lost by exactly 12 runs.

For Harlingen South's part, Aundr? Guadarrama made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts Guadarrama has posted since back in March. He was also big at the plate, earning four RBI and one run.

In other pitching news, Richard Pizano looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up a single earned run in eight consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, Harlingen South got a massive performance out of Noah Garcia, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double. What's more, Garcia posted two hits, the most he's had since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Olivares, who went 1-for-3 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

Donna North's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Harlingen South, their record now sits at 21-5.
