Athens won the last time they faced River Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Raiders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Athens was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-18, 25-16.

Athens found their leader in freshman Avery Hart, who had seven aces.

Athens was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in seven consecutive contests.

Athens' win bumped their record up to 15-5. As for River Valley, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Athens will face off against Alexander at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for River Valley, they will square off against Rock Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
