Basketball Game Preview: Norland Vikings vs. Dr. Krop Lightning

The Norland Vikings will face off against the Dr. Krop Lightning at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Norland's tournament run continued when they took on Northwestern on Thursday. Norland fell 68-55 to Northwestern.

Despite the loss, Norland got top-tier performance from Oneal Norelus, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Norelus has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anthony Walcott, who posted seven points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Dr. Krop was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They took a blow against American, falling 69-36. While losing is never fun, the Lightning can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 558th, while the Patriots are ranked 207th).

Norland's loss dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Dr. Krop, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-13.

Norland beat Dr. Krop 73-65 in their previous meeting back in November of 2016. Will Norland repeat their success, or does Dr. Krop have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
