Softball Recap: West Central Gets the Win

While West Central's win against North Judson-San Pierre wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Trojans had just enough and edged out the Bluejays 4-3. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Makylah Holle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cassidy Lattimore was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in May of 2025.

West Central is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they moved to 10-7 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, West Central will be playing at home against Tri-County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trojans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cavaliers have averaged an impressive 10.4 runs per game this season. As for North Judson-San Pierre, they are taking a road trip to face off against North Miami at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
