Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Meanwhile, Harrells Christian Academy hadn't done well against Wake Christian Academy recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Crusaders put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 13-4 victory. Considering the Crusaders have won three games by more than eight runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Regan Cannon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on six hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Breelyn Peed, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Makenzie Jackson, who scored three runs while going 3-for-5.
Peed wasn't the only one making solid contact: Harrells Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. The Crusaders are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
The win snapped Harrells Christian Academy's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-6 record. As for Wayne Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
Wayne Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Harrells Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 8-6. Do the Eagles have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Crusaders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
