Westerville Central had lost five games on the road dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 4-6 on Monday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 17-6 margin over the New Albany Eagles. That looming 17-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warhawks yet this season.

As for New Albany, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-13. Those home losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.8 runs over those games.

For New Albany's part, Bella Dues made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Zoe Oakleaf, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westerville Central will square off against Big Walnut at 5:15 p.m. on May 6. As for New Albany, they will face off against Olentangy Berlin at 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
