Preview: Columbia County Christian vs. Belleville Mennonite Thunder
Columbia County Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They and the Belleville Mennonite Thunder will face off at 7:30 p.m. on February 1st without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Columbia County Christian will be strutting in after a victory while the Thunder will be coming in after a loss.
Columbia County Christian put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Centre County Christian Academy with a sharp 75-53 win.
Columbia County Christian found their leader in underclassman Pierce Cughan, who dropped a double-double on 48 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Cughan has scored at least a third of Columbia County Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Clay Farley, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Belleville Mennonite unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They had to suffer through a rough 73-42 loss at the hands of Blacklick Valley.
Columbia County Christian has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Belleville Mennonite, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Everything came up roses for Columbia County Christian against the Thunder when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 58-29 victory. With Columbia County Christian ahead 33-9 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
