Preview: La Joya Community Fighting Lobos vs. Casteel Colts
La Joya Community has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Thursday. They will face off against the Casteel Colts at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully La Joya Community focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 on Monday.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 78-43, which was the final score in La Joya Community's tilt against Kellis.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Nuul Deng, who scored 11 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals. Jeramiah Gutierrez was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with 4 steals.
Casteel has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three contests by 21 points or more this season. They breezed by Paradise Valley on the road to the tune of 63-27. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Casteel.
The losses dropped La Joya Community to 0-3 and Kellis to 1-2.
La Joya Community took a serious blow against Casteel in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 78-33. Can La Joya Community avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
